Scottish Pictures (It is what it says on the tin....and more!)

Our collection of Scottish Pictures encompasses everything considered to be typically Scottish. These are perfect for retail within Scottish tourism as well as home gift-ware departments. Popular designs are of course Highland Coos and Red Stags, both iconically Scottish. There are two Scottish Dancer designs and a very delicate Bagpipe. The Bagpipe in particular is an intricate design involving very careful handling during manufacture. This is something we are proud of, the detail in our pictures. The Scottish Thistle is very detailed and as popular as the Highland Coo. To accommodate for both coastal and inland locations of retail shops we also include winter sports, sea birds and fishing designs. Our fly fisherman, golfer, snow boarder and skier offer something for the outdoor sports enthusiast. We always talk to our customers about what their needs are for their area and their customers. Often we will create something specifically for them. We were asked for Nature Notes of Oyster Catchers and Pheasants for a local castle shop. This was relevant to their location and the buying habits of their customers. So, all in all we have quite a flexible approach to our Scottish collection of pictures and encourage our customers to share their ideas.

Bespoke Gifts

Creating bespoke gifts is an area we really enjoy. Customers often find it hard to find bespoke products, so we work with the customer to develop something unique for their retail offering. Bespoke gifts sell well in areas benefiting from a high turnover of tourists. Visitors love products that tell the story of where they have been. Bespoke products make great souvenirs. At the moment we offer bespoke baubles, photo frames and castle pictures. We work with large companies supplying branded photo frames with engraved logos and text. We are looking to expand our bespoke offering. Any company that offers a bespoke experience may benefit from, for example, a photo frame with their logo on, for a client gift. If this is of interest please give us a call or contact us online https://www.thedamside.com/contact.html

That's it for now. It’s starting to feel like winter now. Keep safe and warm. Until the next time.
Best Wishes

The Damside make Scottish Gifts for the retail trade.

Hello and welcome to our blog!

So this is us. Rachel and Graham!

Before I get started showing you our Scottish Gifts and bespoke products, here's how it all began............

We moved to rural Aberdeenshire in 2015 and decided we really wanted to work from home. Graham's background is in Laser Engraving, mine is in Admin. So we make quite the team! We both have ideas but it's Graham who makes it happen. I'm more the inspiration side, Graham's the go to guy with the skills needed to get it done. We actually started selling cushions, clocks and all sorts of Scottish gifts at craft stalls and local Highland Games. We were approached by a large store and that's where our story began. We soon realised we could sell our Scottish art direct to other retailers. We had a few lucky breaks and now have some great retailers stocking our products in the north of Scotland.

We are based near Banff on the north Aberdeenshire coast. The area is so beautiful it is quite inspiring. We let our imaginations run wild and love creating new products. We are really proud that our designs are indeed our own. We also love to source eco-friendly products and materials made within Scotland or the UK. We love the fact that our Scottish gifts have already gone all round the world. There's something lovely about knowing there are pictures we made hanging on the walls of homes in Australia, America, Canada, India to name but a few. And our Christmas baubles adorning trees around the world, reminding expats of home or a wonderful memory of their visit to Scotland.

We are always on the lookout for suitable retailers. At the moment we supply Aberdeenshire and across into the Cairngorms and the west coast of Scotland. We are currently searching for gift shops across the rest of Scotland and south into England to stock our products. I'll go into detail about what we can offer in further posts. But you can always check out the website www.thedamside.com

So, this is just the beginning. I hope you will follow our story and our progress. Until the next time!

Best wishes, Rachel
